I decided to improvise a pattern for a cowl that would be suitable for my trip to Stitches West! I wasn't sure what the weather would be like, so I picked a lighter-weight yarn that would be good for the plane and the climate-controlled indoors!

Yarn: Lion Brand Cotton-Ease, color Charcoal.
Quantity: 1 ball (207 yds)
Needles: US 9 24" circular
Notions: darning needle, stitch marker
CO 104 sts. Join to knit in the round.
Round 1: * knit 4, purl 4; rep from * to end
Round 2: rep row 1
Repeat these 2 rounds until cowl measures 1” (or however long you want your ribbing to be!)
Next round: * k2tog, yo; rep from * to end
Foll. round: knit
Repeat these 2 rounds until entire piece measures approx. 9” from beg.
Next round: * knit 4, purl 4; rep from * to end

Repeat these 2 rounds for another inch. BO and wear proudly!
